Consistently with its institutional purposes, The Pollino National Park Authority aims at actively contributing to the improvement and preservation of the quality of the environment in its territory and pursuing local sustainability policies starting from its own vocational, anthropic, environmental, cultural, historical context and from its own availability of resources.

Moreover, a management of the Park Authorities based on criteria of transparency, maximum efficiency and guarantee of territorial protection cannot disregard the "codification" of operational and organisational processes, verifications of compliance with qualitative-quantitative standards capable of ensuring the full satisfaction of the strategic objectives set and, ultimately, of guaranteeing the pursuit of its institutional aims
Aware of the need to promote an effective sustainable development of the territory and to equip itself with an effective and efficient organization, the Park Authority, together with the interested parties, has identified the realization and implementation of an Integrated Quality-Environment System in accordance with UNI EN ISO 14001:15 and UNI EN ISO 9001:15 standards as a useful tool for achieving the above objectives.
The Pollino National Park Authority is among the first National Park Authorities, in Italy, to obtain dual certification, UNI EN ISO 9001 and UNI EN ISO 14001, under ACCREDIA accreditation. This step is, however, considered only a starting phase for a continuous optimization of the organizational model introduced.

The object of the certification obtained is as follows:
"Conservation, protection and enhancement of naturalistic, territorial and cultural aspects of the protected area through the execution of institutional activities, development and implementation of specific projects of conservation, protection and enhancement, education and environmental dissemination".
