Fabio Annunziata

Fabio Annunziata

Graduate in environmental engineering, I have been involved in public resource planning, both in the environmental and financial fields, for about 25 years.

I've been working in the Public Administration since 1996 and until 2008 my professional activity was focused on the programming of activities and interventions within the Ministry of Economy and Finance and in the implementation of management information systems. From 2008 to 2014, within the Ministry of Environment, my professional experience focused on environmental regulation and implementation of environmental and spatial information systems. After a period (until June 2020) in international relations in energy regulation and EU environmental taxation, I returned to the current Ministry of Ecological Transition to deal with budget and NRP.

With a naturalist background, after my PhD in Geobotany at the University of Pavia I focused my attention on biodiversity conservation, first attending the three-year specialisation school in "Management of the natural environment and protected areas" at the University of Camerino, then the master's degree in "Conservation of animal biodiversity: protected areas and ecological networks" at the Sapienza University. In November 2005, after winning a competition at the Lazio Region as a technical naturalist officer, I started working for the regional system of protected areas, where I served in the Riserva Montagne della Duchessa (RI) and the Riserva Selva del Lamone (VT). In July 2016, I moved from the protected areas to the Regional Environment Directorate, which is responsible for implementing European and national standards for the protection of biodiversity on a regional scale. In January 2022 I won a competition at the Ministry of Ecological Transition as a technical nature officer and in April 2022 I started working for this governing body. I have also had working and nature volunteering experiences abroad (Spain, UK, USA) with the aim of enriching my knowledge of biodiversity and concrete conservation actions.
